Copenhagen Business School (CBS) teaching case on Partnering for Change

A teaching case by CBS researchers Verena Girschik, Jasper Hotho and Andreas Rasche discusses how Novo Nordisk, the ICRC, and the DRC set up Partnering for Change to support the treatment of NCDs in humanitarian crisis settings with a particular focus on the treatment of diabetes and hypertension. The case describes how the partnership was formed over several years, and points to the challenges and dilemmas the partner organisations were faced with at the launch of the partnership. The case allows for a discussion of the special nature of partnerships in the context of humanitarian assistance. Further, it invites students to reflect on the strategic motivations of the different partners to explore new forms of business-humanitarian partnerships as well as the challenges inherent in such partnerships.
