A series of interviews were conducted with individuals with diabetes who are living in Lebanon after having left their home country of Syria. Read their stories to learn more about the challenges that people with chronic conditions who have left their country of origin due to conflict and settle in another place confront daily.

Interviews were conducted with displaced people living with diabetes, originally from Syria, now living in Lebanon. Their stories reflect some of the challenges that people with chronic conditions who have left country of origin due to conflict and settled elsewhere may confront.

Living with diabetes as a refugee in Lebanon

Meet Abdel El Salam Othman – a former shop owner from Syria. Abdel now lives in Tripoli, Lebanon, where he receives vital treatment for his type 2 diabetes via the Lebanese Red Cross. Humanitarian crises make people with NCDs more vulnerable. Partnering for Change aims to improve the chronic care offered to this particular group of people.
